Product Overview
This thin-film release agent is used on sand mould cavities, sand cores and joint surfaces in casting applications such as automotive turbo housings. It can be applied as supplied or diluted where required.
Product Features
- Transparent to pale yellow liquid.
- Thin-film application by spraying, brushing or wiping.
- Compatible with alcohol-based refractory coating processes.
Applications
Quartz sand moulds and sand cores for turbo housings, exhaust pipes and shell-type castings, including hot box, cold box and phenolic resin coated sand processes.
Application Method
Remove loose sand and dust. Apply a thin uniform coating to the cavity and joint surfaces by spraying, brushing or wiping. Allow to air-dry or use low-temperature drying before mould closing and pouring.
Storage & Packaging
Packaged in sealed 25 kg or 200 kg drums. Store sealed in a cool, ventilated and dry place away from fire, heat, oxidants and direct sunlight. Shelf life: 12 months.
Precautions
Use multiple thin coats rather than a heavy local layer. Maintain ventilation and wear gloves and safety goggles. Conduct a small-area trial before use.
Applications
Remove loose sand and dust, apply a thin uniform coat, then air-dry or use low-temperature drying before mould closing and pouring.
